Day 1 & 2 (may 27 and 28) 7 pm:
I'm going to lump these into one submission because my findings were the same on both days.
I went to Tower Records in Shinjuku to observe what kind of people are still interested in buying the latest CD. I had never been there before so I did a little exploring of my own. There were 3 floors of music and one floor of DVDs this is my chart for the amount of people that were on each floor.
1st (Japanese music floor): a few but not overly crowded. most younger people were female.
2nd (Jazz classical music etc): less young people than there were old but still not very many.
3rd (Rock/pop hip-hop club music): about the same male to female ratio for young people but all the older people wearing suits were mainly male. most people were concentrated towards the American Indie rock section.
4th (DVDs): almost nobody...
Found this to be interesting. not only were there more people than I had initially expected, but there were far more people looking at bands that spoke English compared to how many were looking at bands that spoke Japanese.
